Job Summary

Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed for diagnosis.
Assist in the documentation of patient medical histories and treatment plans.
Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Implement infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and hygiene.
Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care, including assisting during procedures when necessary.
Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Skills
Proficiency in Dentrix software for managing patient records and scheduling appointments.
Knowledge of medical coding for accurate billing and insurance processing.
Strong understanding of infection control practices to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Familiarity with dental terminology and anatomy knowledge essential for effective communication within the team and with patients.
Experience in dental assisting is a plus, enhancing teamwork capabilities during procedures.
Ability to manage medical records efficiently, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
Competence in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow during treatments.
Skills in medical imaging, including taking high-quality radiographs for diagnostic purposes.
Attention to detail in documentation review to ensure accuracy in patient records.
