Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, medical records, and patient interactions in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Monitor and record vital signs to ensure patient safety during procedures
Support infection control standards by following HIPAA guidelines and maintaining a sterile environment
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements including medical coding standards
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred
Hands-on experience with pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus
Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures
Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively during various dental procedures
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including pediatrics
Prior experience in general dentistry or specialty practices such as pediatric dentistry enhances your candidacy
