Job Summary
We are seeking a Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing dental cleanings, assessments, and education, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral health status
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring proper infection prevention and aseptic techniques
Educate patients on proper dental care practices, including oral hygiene instructions and preventive strategies
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EMR) using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
Monitor and operate dental equipment safely, adhering to infection control protocols and healthcare standards
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical records management
Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control practices
Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, fostering trust and understanding
Familiarity with dental x-ray procedures, medical imaging techniques, and maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA regulations
