Job Overview

Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review
Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict infection control protocols
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options
Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Support the dental team with chairside assisting during various procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques
Monitor patient vital signs throughout appointments to ensure safety during treatments
Maintain accurate dental records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system Dentrix
Skills
Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control procedures
Experience with dental office software Dentrix preferred
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry settings
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
Prior experience in dental clinic or dental office environments is highly desirable
