Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral hygiene, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Responsibilities
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring accurate positioning and safety protocols.
Assess patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to monitor overall health status.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their dental health.
Assist dentists during various procedures through chairside assisting, including handing instruments and managing patient comfort.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Follow infection prevention protocols by adhering to aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and managing infection control measures in accordance with healthcare standards.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting.
Proven experience in dental hygiene or dental assisting within a busy dental office or clinic environment.
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft for patient records management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and procedures is preferred but not required.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health.
Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
