Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Under NEW Ownership as of May 2026! Dr. Shimp is excited to start offering more complex procedures and grow this practice that has been well-loved by the community for over 20 years. We strive to provide high quality care efficiently while focusing on the patient experience.

Hygienist is needed 2-4 days per week. Can be flexible with what days we add - even open to adding Saturday if preferred.

RDH Duties:

- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, taking X-rays, and applying fluoride treatments, Periodontal scaling and root planning

- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide recommendations for at-home care

- Conduct thorough dental assessments and screenings to identify any oral health issues or concerns

- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials

- Maintain accurate patient records (currently using Dentrix, but may switch to Open Dental)

- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff

- Collaborate with the dental team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients
Skills:

- Valid RDH license in [CA]

- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and explain procedures

- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and record keeping

- Knowledge of proper dental procedure codes, billing and insurance claims processing

- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals

- Strong organizational skills to manage patient schedules and maintain efficient workflow
