Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
Assist dentists during various procedures, including examinations, restorations, and pediatric dentistry treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation review standards.
Monitor vital signs and assess medical conditions that may impact dental treatment or require referral to healthcare providers.
Support infection control procedures by sterilizing instruments, managing medical records, and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation, scheduling, and billing purposes.
Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow within the dental office environment, especially in pediatric dentistry settings.
Skills
Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and working effectively with children of diverse backgrounds.
Familiarity with medical coding for billing purposes and documentation review processes.
Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication tailored to pediatric patients and their families.
