Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and dental examinations.
Capture high-quality dental x-rays and interpret imaging results for accurate diagnosis.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Open Dental ( not a must)
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure patient safety.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software systems like Open Dental for documentation and scheduling.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards within a dental setting.
Excellent communication skills for client education, team collaboration, and detailed documentation review.
