Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment planning.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including medical history updates and treatment notes.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing sensitive medical records diligently.
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical coding standards.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care tailored to pediatric patients is highly desirable.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record management.
Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks seamlessly while demonstrating excellent patient care skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medical imaging techniques relevant to dental practice.
