Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict infection control protocols
Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Review medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with medical coding is a plus
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively
Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and documentation review processes
Collaborating with the doctor and team
Helping to create a welcoming patient experience
