Job Summary

Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to ensure optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized care plans.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower them in maintaining healthy smiles.
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient patient care delivery.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document treatment details accurately and review medical records for comprehensive patient information.
Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques, sterilization of dental instruments, and adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry environments, demonstrating familiarity with pediatric-specific care approaches.
Proficiency in using dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling management.
Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.
Ability to perform patient assessments accurately, including vital signs measurement and medical imaging procedures like X-rays.
Excellent communication skills for client education, team collaboration, and maintaining a positive patient experience.
