Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional dental care by providing thorough cleanings, patient education, and preventive services. Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis procedures, including cleanings, scaling, and polishing to promote optimal oral health.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to inform treatment plans.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
Educate patients on dental care best practices, oral hygiene techniques, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of maintaining healthy teeth and gums.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation of patient information, treatment notes, and medical records.
Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Monitor patient vital signs and assess overall health status before procedures to ensure safety.
Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation to support clinical excellence.
Uphold HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and managing sensitive medical records securely.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice clinically.
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with proficiency in dental assisting and chairside assisting techniques.
Familiarity with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental x-ray procedures, infection control standards, and medical imaging techniques.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management and healthcare infection prevention protocols.
Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is desirable.
