Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and preventive treatments. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency and patient comfort
Take and develop medical imaging, such as X-rays, while adhering to strict safety protocols and infection control standards
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred
Familiarity with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes
Hands-on experience with infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols in a dental office environment
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health and the ability to perform patient care assessments effectively
Proficiency with dental office software such as Dentrix is highly desirable
