Position Summary:
Seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our elite periodontal team 1 day a week, preferably on Mondays, potentially could be Thursdays also. The hygienist will provide comprehensive preventive and periodontal maintenance care, support periodontal treatment plans, collaborate closely with periodontists and staff, and contribute to a high-touch, professional patient experience.

Not required, but local anesthesia permit is preferred.

Duties:
Promote dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies, charting conditions of decay and disease
Maintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments.

Completes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins.

Detects disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession and exposing and developing radiographs
Arrests dental decay by applying fluoride
Educates patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions and providing reminders of time of next dental hygiene visit.

Maintains dental hygiene supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
