Job Description
Overview:
We are a small family practice seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team in New Castle, DE. This is for a part time position for Mondays and Wednesdays with our hours being 7-3pm. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about their work, will provide high quality dental care to our patients, and promote oral health in a professional and compassionate manner. With a supportive and collaborative staff, we aim to create a positive environment for everyone. Previous experience is great, we are also open to working with new graduates.
Responsibilities:
Ensure patient’s feel comfortable and welcomed into the office
Conduct dental cleanings and preventive care
Administer fluoride treatments
Working as a teammate with fellow employees to complete each days tasks
Sterilize dental instruments as well as assist in sterilization as needed (ie packing instruments, loading the autoclave)
Maintain documentation, medical history and charts on each patient
Conduct new patient exams/initial oral health screenings
Identifying oral health conditions
Educating patients on proper oral hygiene
Taking dental x-rays
Assisting dentists with treatment plans
Taking intra oral photos when necessary
Making 6 month check-up appointment at the end of each appointment
Restocking hygiene supplies
Requirements:
2 years (can include school experience) treating patients
Valid dental hygiene license for the state of Delaware
Valid CPR certification
Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and HIPAA regulations
Experience with medical documentation and record keeping
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Patient and friendly personality
Works well with others
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Passionate about helping people
