Job Overview
We are a patient-centered private dental practice seeking a friendly, skilled Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, and committed to delivering excellent preventive dental care and patient education.
Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth in accordance with best practices.
Take and record vital signs and medical history assessments for patients.
Take digital radiographs and intraoral images
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
Review and update medical records accurately within EMR systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
Manage documentation review, medical coding, and ensure accurate billing support.
Monitor patient comfort and address any concerns during treatment sessions.
Adhere to all dental terminology standards and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Work collaboratively with the dentist and team
Qualifications
Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations, CPR/BLS Certification, Knowledge of digital radiography.
Proficiency in dental software Open Dental EMR systems.
Experience with pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, and infection control protocols.
Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and dental terminology relevant to patient care.
Skilled in chairside assisting, medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and documentation review.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical records management.
Strong understanding of dental assisting procedures including aseptic technique and infection control measures.
Previous experience working in a dental office or clinic setting preferred.
