About us
Smiles and Co. Pediatric Dentistry is a doctor owned, single location pediatric specialty office looking for either a part time or full time pediatric dental hygienist who loves working with kids and enjoys teaching about sugar bugs and proper oral hygiene - no perio patients or local anesthetic. We are focused on providing children and their families the highest quality of care and superior customer service in a fun environment. Pediatric experience is not required.
We are open to figuring out a part time or full time schedule that works best for you but prefer weekly consistency. We accommodate a standard full day 8 hour shift with one hour lunch break or a 5 hour afternoon shift with no lunch in the afternoons based on your preference (afternoon hours are our true need). Ability to work 1 Saturday a month is a plus but not required (we do not work Saturdays in the months of June/July). We huddle 30 min prior to our start and our schedule is
Monday/Thursday/Friday 9am-5pm, Tuesday 8am-4pm, Wed 10am-6pm, Saturday 8am-1pm
The role includes PTO that accrues yearly based on hours worked as well as scrubs and dental perks after 90 days. Health insurance (employer pays 50% of premium) and holiday benefits are available for full time staff.
Duties include/looking for:
Friendly engagement and with patients and parents. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. An empathetic, cheerful demeanor is a must when working with children and parents.
Prophylaxis for kids, adolescents and special needs patients including scaling/cavitron as needed
Assisting the doctor in maintaining chart notes and records
Taking dental radiographs
Helping to maintain operatories and sterilization
Assisting in scheduling recare appointments
Ability to work efficiently and make good clinical judgments especially during busy hours
Pay: From $45.00 per hour
