Job Description
If you're a hygienist who notices the details, genuinely enjoys taking care of people, and wants to practice in an office where quality matters more than rushing through a schedule, we'd like to meet you.
Exceptional Dentistry is a privately owned, fee-for-service dental practice in Summerlin. We believe exceptional dentistry includes both excellent clinical care and an unreasonably thoughtful patient experience.
We're looking for a hygienist who takes pride in their work, communicates well, follows through, and wants to be an important part of a comprehensive dental team.
This is not high-volume hygiene. We don't believe excellent hygiene should feel like a race against the clock. Our goal is to give our hygienist the time, technology, support, and clinical autonomy needed to thoroughly evaluate patients, educate them, provide excellent preventive and periodontal care, and contribute meaningfully to their overall treatment.
Standard adult hygiene appointments are scheduled for 60 minutes.
What you'll do
As our dental hygienist, you'll provide comprehensive preventive and periodontal care while helping patients understand their oral health and the reasoning behind our recommendations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Adult dental hygiene
Guided Biofilm Therapy and AirFlow
Comprehensive periodontal assessment, therapy, and maintenance
Complete periodontal charting and documentation
Patient education and individualized home-care coaching
Digital radiographs and appropriate diagnostic records when indicated
Reviewing medical histories and identifying relevant changes
Intraoral scanning and clinical photography when appropriate
Participating in comprehensive and new-patient examinations alongside our doctors
Gathering and communicating clinical information that supports diagnosis and treatment planning
Helping patients understand restorative, cosmetic, periodontal, and interdisciplinary treatment recommendations
Reinforcing the doctor's recommendations and answering clinical questions
Maintaining accurate and complete clinical documentation
Working closely with the doctors and clinical team to provide coordinated care
What success looks like here
Patients feel genuinely cared for.
Periodontal disease is identified rather than overlooked.
Your clinical records are thorough, accurate, and useful.
Patients understand what we see, why it matters, and what their treatment options are.
You're comfortable having important conversations about oral health.
You can participate confidently in comprehensive exams and communicate your observations to the doctor.
When significant treatment is recommended, you're comfortable helping patients understand the findings and the reasoning behind the recommendation.
The doctors trust your observations and clinical judgment.
Your operatory and schedule are prepared.
You communicate early when something needs attention.
When you say you'll take care of something, the team knows it will get done.
You look for ways to make both the patient's experience and the practice better.
You may be a great fit if you...
Take genuine pride in providing excellent clinical care.
Want enough time with patients to do your job well.
Are warm, confident, and comfortable communicating with patients.
Have strong periodontal assessment and patient-education skills.
Are comfortable discussing dentistry beyond hygiene and helping patients understand comprehensive treatment recommendations.
Enjoy being involved in larger cases and understanding how preventive, periodontal, restorative, cosmetic, and functional dentistry fit together.
Notice details other people sometimes miss.
Are dependable and punctual.
Appreciate clear expectations, accountability, and constructive feedback.
Take ownership rather than waiting to be reminded.
Enjoy collaborating with doctors who value comprehensive dentistry.
Are interested in technology and modern approaches to patient care.
Want to build a meaningful long-term role in a privately owned practice.
This probably isn't the right position if...
This environment may not be the best fit if you prefer:
A high-volume hygiene model focused primarily on getting through the schedule.
Minimal feedback or accountability.
Waiting to be directed before handling routine responsibilities.
Treating hygiene as completely separate from the patient's comprehensive care.
Avoiding conversations about treatment outside of hygiene.
A workplace where "that's not my job" is the default response when the team needs help.
We believe high standards and a supportive workplace can coexist.
We don't expect perfection. We do expect communication, ownership, professionalism, reliability, and a willingness to improve.
Schedule
Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
Optional Friday Hours: 7:30 AM–12:00 PM
Friday hours are available for hygienists who would like additional hours, but they are not required.
Compensation
$50–$60 per hour, depending on experience, clinical ability, and overall fit.
Team members are also eligible for quarterly performance bonuses.
Benefits
Paid vacation: 1 week after 1 year of employment. Increases to 2 weeks after 2 years
1 week of paid sick leave
401(k) with 3% employer match
$200/month healthcare stipend
Up to $1,200/year continuing-education stipend specifically for our hygienist
Reimbursement of dental hygiene license fees
Quarterly performance bonus opportunities
Why this role is different
Time to practice well. Standard 60-minute adult hygiene appointments allow you to focus on the patient rather than racing to turn over a chair.
A meaningful role in comprehensive care. Our hygienist is part of the diagnostic and treatment-planning process, including comprehensive exams and larger treatment cases.
Modern hygiene. You'll have access to GBT and AirFlow and work in a practice that actively invests in technology and better ways of providing care.
Clinical growth. We want our hygienist to keep developing, not simply complete the minimum CE needed for license renewal.
Private ownership. You'll work directly with the doctors who own the practice and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how we care for patients and continue developing the practice.
