Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice once a week on Thursday's. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and the ability to work effectively within a team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Duties
Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Assess patients' oral health and provide recommendations for treatment.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain accurate medical records and document patient care in compliance with clinic protocols.
Assist in the management of infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Collaborate with dentists and other team members to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
Utilize medical imaging systems to capture diagnostic images as needed.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education.
Qualifications
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry is a plus, as well as experience in a dental clinic setting.
Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control standards.
Proficiency in using medical imaging systems and maintaining patient care protocols.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
Attention to detail and commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Previous experience in dental assisting is advantageous but not required.
