Greater Richmond Dentistry is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our growing private practice. This part-time position is ideal for a hygienist who enjoys providing comprehensive periodontal care and building lasting relationships with patients.
Our patient population includes a high volume of Scaling and Root Planing (SRP), Periodontal Maintenance, and comprehensive New Patient appointments, making this an excellent opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about periodontal therapy and patient education.
We are a modern, fully digital practice that values clinical excellence, efficiency, and teamwork while providing our patients with an exceptional experience. We are committed to practicing according to the highest standards of care. Our office standard is to perform ultrasonic instrumentation on every hygiene patient, followed by hand instrumentation as clinically indicated to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
Schedule
2–3 days per week
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation
$65–$73 per hour, based on experience, clinical skills, and qualifications.

Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive periodontal evaluations and risk assessments
Administer local anesthesia in accordance with Virginia regulations and the standard of care
Provide Scaling and Root Planing (SRP) when clinically indicated
Deliver Periodontal Maintenance therapy
Perform ultrasonic instrumentation followed by hand instrumentation in accordance with our office's clinical standard of care
Complete comprehensive New Patient hygiene appointments
Perform periodontal charting
Obtain high-quality digital radiographs in accordance with Virginia regulations
Educate patients on periodontal disease, oral hygiene, and preventive care
Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation
Collaborate with the doctor and clinical team to develop individualized periodontal treatment plans
Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care while maintaining the highest clinical standards
Qualifications
Active Virginia Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing
Current Virginia certification to administer local anesthesia (required)
Current CPR/BLS certification
Strong periodontal assessment and patient education skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Dependable, organized, and committed to providing exceptional patient care
Dentrix Ascend experience is preferred but not required
