Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleanings, assessments, and education. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and ensure a positive experience for every patient. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct thorough patient assessments by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and evaluating oral health status. Take X-rays as well as dental probing
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies to maintain healthy smiles.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Practice Works or similar EMR platforms.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records responsibly.
Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to coordinate treatment plans and ensure seamless patient care delivery.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting.
Proven experience working in general dentistry or specialized areas such as pediatric dentistry.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
Proficiency with dental software systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar EMR systems like Epic.
Familiarity with dental assisting procedures, vital signs measurement, and dental office protocols.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about oral health and treatment options.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
