Job Description
Our small single doctor practice is looking for a Dental Hygienist who understands or is willing to learn to treat in a comprehensive dental practice. A small office with a great team is looking for the right person to work Part/Full time.
Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide preventive dental services, educate patients on oral health, and support the overall function of our busy dental practice. Your expertise will help foster healthy smiles and ensure a positive experience for every patient. We are looking for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about promoting oral health and well-being.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral conditions to inform treatment plans.
Assist during dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to increase efficiency and comfort.
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and post-treatment care to promote long-term health.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Follow infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information and ensure a sterile environment.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Proven experience in general dentistry with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for record keeping and documentation review.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
Experience with pediatric patients is a plus; comfort working with children is highly valued.
