Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols.
Assist with chairside procedures, including providing support during treatments such as fillings or extractions, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Follow infection prevention management protocols by adhering to aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures for dental equipment.
Monitor patient vital signs and assess overall health status during visits to ensure safe treatment environments.
Support the dental team with general dentistry procedures, ensuring smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experiences.
