Job Overview
We are seeking a part-time Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team one to two days a week. Our office is open Monday through Thursday, and we're flexible on which days work best for you, as long as it's consistent. In this role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental hygiene services, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help foster a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for, ensuring they leave with healthier smiles and a positive experience.
Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe treatment planning
Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment in compliance with safety standards
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Dentrix, documenting treatments thoroughly
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
Review medical records and coordinate with the dental team to support comprehensive patient care in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
Support the dental team by assisting with dental equipment setup, sterilization, and maintenance as needed
Experience
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures
Administration of Local Anesthesia Certification Preferred
Proven experience working in a dental office environment, preferably within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care
Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and special needs patients if applicable
