Position Summary
The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing high-quality preventive and periodontal dental care while creating a positive, professional patient experience. The Hygienist works closely with the dentist and dental team to identify patient needs, educate patients on oral health, support treatment recommendations, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent clinical skills, strong communication, professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Essential Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Duties
Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments and examinations within the scope of licensure.
Review and update medical and dental histories.
Take and review appropriate dental radiographs as directed and permitted by state regulations.
Perform adult and child prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance.
Perform periodontal charting and assessments.
Identify signs of periodontal disease, caries, oral pathology, and other conditions requiring dentist evaluation.
Provide scaling and root planing as indicated and within the scope of licensure.
Apply fluoride and other preventive treatments as appropriate.
Provide oral cancer
