Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic role, you will provide preventive dental services, educate patients on oral health, and supporting our MD in overall treatment plans. Our office needs a team player to foster a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for. We are seeking a motivated professional with a passion for promoting healthy smiles and a commitment to excellence in dental hygiene.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Assist with medical imaging procedures like X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to infection control protocols.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, documenting findings, and updating medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems (We use Open Dental)
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments.
Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes.
Familiarity with Open Dental system
Strong knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy, and dental assisting procedures.
Ability to perform pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary and work effectively in pediatric dentistry settings.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs comprehensively and communicate clearly.
