Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficient workflow and patient comfort
Operate and interpret medical imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes, ensuring accurate documentation review and record keeping
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health
Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to safeguard patient safety and adhere to OSHA standards
Document all procedures accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including medical coding when necessary
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred
Proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting procedures
Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy, and dental office protocols
Experience using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and record management
Strong patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
