Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist for 1-2 days per week and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education while supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties
Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque, tartar, and stains using ultrasonic scalers and hand instruments.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments like restorations or extractions.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Review medical records for relevant health information, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and accurate documentation review.
Support dental office operations by managing dental terminology, assisting with medical coding, and updating patient records efficiently.
Qualifications
Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state requirements.
Proven experience in dental office settings, with familiarity in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, infection control procedures, and aseptic technique.
Experience working with pediatric patients and understanding pediatric dentistry best practices is a plus.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and communicate effectively.
Ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
