Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, dental procedures, and infection control protocols, with a passion for promoting oral health and providing exceptional service. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in patient education, preventive care, and assisting the dentist to ensure a smooth and efficient clinical operation. Your expertise in dental terminology, imaging, and electronic health records will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of quality and confidentiality in our practice.
Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Assist the dentist during various procedures such as examinations, X-rays, and other dental treatments using advanced dental equipment.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of oral health.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records within electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Manage infection prevention protocols by adhering to aseptic techniques and healthcare infection control standards to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Utilize dental terminology effectively when documenting procedures or communicating with team members and patients.
Operate dental equipment safely and efficiently while ensuring proper sterilization procedures are followed at all times.
Have or willingness to learn a ems cleaning machine.
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic environment.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Dentrix Ascend.
Knowledge of general dentistry practices along with pediatric dentistry techniques is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical imaging procedures relevant to dentistry.
Familiarity with infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
Ability to stay current on HIPAA regulations, medical coding practices, and documentation review processes within a dental setting.
