Dental Hygienist

Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong oral health
Assist the dentist during procedures such as examinations, restorations, and other dental treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting patient interactions, treatments, and assessments in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality at all times
Skills
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics to effectively care for young patients in a friendly manner
Expertise in infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic setting
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a positive patient experience
Familiarity with medical records management, documentation review, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging techniques
Excellent communication skills for patient education, team collaboration, and documentation clarity
