Dental Hygienist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for each patient
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental examinations to inform treatment planning
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed
Educate patients on proper dental care practices, oral hygiene techniques, and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing oral health
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Maintain infection prevention protocols by adhering to sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and infection control standards in accordance with healthcare guidelines
Support the dental team with chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures, including pediatric dentistry when applicable
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness while ensuring all medical coding and recordkeeping meet regulatory standards
Monitor and record vital signs and medical information during patient visits to support comprehensive care
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting
Proven experience working in a dental office or clinic environment, with familiarity using EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for working with children is a plus
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures
Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following radiation safety standards
Familiarity with medical records management, documentation review, and medical coding processes
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
