Dental Hygienist
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring optimal oral health for our patients. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing preventive dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering comprehensive treatment.
Duties
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and vital signs.
Perform dental cleanings and scaling to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
Take and interpret medical imaging as needed for diagnosis.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment.
Collaborate with dentists to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
Provide care for pediatric patients, ensuring a comfortable experience.
Skills
Proficiency in medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry.
Strong patient assessment skills to evaluate oral health effectively.
Knowledge of infection control procedures within a dental office setting.
Familiarity with dental terminology and practices.
Ability to monitor and record vital signs accurately.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Experience or interest in working with pediatric patients is preferred.
Excellent communication skills to educate and interact with patients effectively.
Strong organizational skills for maintaining medical records and office procedures.
Pay is dependent on experience.
