Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional oral healthcare and patient education. Duties
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup, ensuring optimal oral health.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately while adhering to infection prevention protocols.
Conduct vital signs assessments and review medical histories to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
Educate patients on proper dental care practices, including brushing, flossing techniques, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
Assist dentists chairside during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting treatment details thoroughly.
Follow strict infection control procedures, including aseptic techniques, to ensure patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Support medical imaging processes and ensure proper operation of dental equipment in accordance with safety standards.
Review documentation for accuracy, update medical records regularly, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes.
Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, fostering trust and encouraging ongoing dental care adherence.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental procedures.
Proven experience in general dentistry or dental clinic environments with knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
Proficiency in EHR/EHR management systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus, along with experience working with diverse patient populations.
Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding procedures.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
