Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health.

Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow.

Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including documentation review, medical coding, and updates in Opendental
Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards aligned with healthcare regulations like HIPAA.

Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.

Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.

Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.

Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to educate diverse patient populations effectively.

Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $43.00 - $48.00 per hour
