Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleanings, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting overall oral health. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments while maintaining strict aseptic techniques.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe and effective care.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort.
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient visits, treatment plans, and medical records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) on Tracker.
Follow infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and prevent cross-contamination.
Support pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a welcoming environment for children and understanding their specific needs.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with dental office standards and medical coding requirements.
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office setting.
Familiarity with Tracker is an asset.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
Experience providing patient care across general dentistry practices with an emphasis on pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
Knowledge of medical coding and documentation review processes to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and compassion.
Prior experience in chairside assisting during various dental procedures is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed.
