Dental Hygienist

Job Summary

Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and current dental concerns
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
Maintain accurate medical records using Open Dental
Follow HIPAA guidelines diligently to protect patient confidentiality and privacy
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding where applicable
Apply Sealants and SDF
Skills
Proficiency in dental software systems
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards
Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics-focused patient care is highly desirable
Knowledge of medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry and proper use of radiography equipment
Excellent communication skills for educating patients and collaborating with team members
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control
