Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in promoting optimal oral health and delivering exceptional patient care. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will work closely with dentists and patients to provide preventive dental services, educate patients on oral hygiene practices, and ensure a comfortable, safe environment. Your skills in dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control will help us maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort
Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns
Assist with chairside procedures such as applying sealants, fluoride treatments, and assisting during restorative or pediatric dentistry procedures
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health
Follow strict infection prevention protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff in compliance with healthcare infection control standards
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting
Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation review
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and medical imaging procedures
Expertise in infection prevention management, healthcare infection control practices, and HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality
Ability to perform dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to pediatric patients and diverse populations
