Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will provide top-quality preventive dental care, educate patients on oral health practices, and support the overall patient experience. Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status to inform treatment plans.
Assist the dentist during procedures through chairside assisting, ensuring all dental equipment is prepared and maintained properly.
Educate patients on proper dental care techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice to promote ongoing oral health.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
Follow infection prevention protocols using aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.
Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care tailored to children’s needs.
Ability to perform dental imaging procedures accurately while maintaining patient comfort.
Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration within a busy dental office setting.
Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control management, including sterilization of dental equipment.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
