Wright Family Dentistry is a well-established, patient-centered dental practice committed to delivering exceptional oral health care. We are looking for a friendly, motivated Dental Hygienist, to join our amazing team 4 1/2 days a week! Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and evaluating oral health status.
Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort.
Capture high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while maintaining strict adherence to radiation safety protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix with accuracy, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
Maintain infection control standards by following aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and managing healthcare infection prevention protocols.
Support the dental team with chairside assisting during various procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
Review medical records and documentation for accuracy; assist with medical coding when necessary for billing purposes.
Uphold patient confidentiality at all times in compliance with HIPAA guidelines, fostering trust and professionalism.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a general setting.
Proficiency with EHR systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and infection prevention management.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages about dental care and treatment plans.
Ability to perform detailed patient assessments including vital signs and medical history reviews accurately.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding enhances your effectiveness in this role.
