About Our Practice
We are a patient-focused dental practice committed to providing exceptional, compassionate care in a welcoming and professional environment. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Dental Hygienist to join our team and help our patients achieve and maintain excellent oral health.
Position Overview
The Dental Hygienist will provide comprehensive preventive dental hygiene services while educating patients on proper oral health and maintaining a high standard of clinical care. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about building positive relationships with patients.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance
Take and develop dental X-rays as permitted by state regulations
Perform periodontal charting and assessments
Apply fluoride and other preventive treatments as appropriate
Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, nutrition, and overall oral health
Review medical and dental histories and identify relevant health concerns
Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the practice management system
Communicate treatment findings and recommendations with the dentist and dental team
Maintain a clean, organized, and properly sterilized operatory
Follow all OSHA, infection-control, and practice safety protocols
Provide a comfortable and positive patient experience
Assist with maintaining efficient patient flow and a productive schedule
Qualifications
Current Dental Hygiene license in the state of MD
Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
Current CPR/BLS certification
Experience as a dental hygienist preferred
Strong clinical and communication skills
Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
Comfortable working with patients of all ages
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care
