Job Description
Patient Care & Treatment Plan Coordinator
Smilestry – Scarborough, ME
Reimagine dentistry with us!
Are you an experienced dental front office professional who loves connecting with people, helping patients understand their dental care, and keeping an office running smoothly?
Smilestry is looking for an energetic, warm, outgoing, and motivated Patient Care & Treatment Plan Coordinator to join our growing team.
We are a modern, digitally driven dental practice focused on delivering an exceptional patient experience through personalized care, innovation, and genuine human connection.
We are a small office, which means every team member matters. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, works independently, anticipates what needs to be done, and takes pride in contributing to the success of the entire practice. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to be more than a receptionist and play an important role in the patient experience and growth of our office.
Dental front office EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. We are looking for someone who can confidently manage daily front office responsibilities, understand dental insurance, and communicate treatment and financial information to patients with clarity and compassion.
What You’ll Do
Manage front desk operations, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, coordinating patient communications, and handling daily administrative tasks.
Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain detailed insurance breakdowns, and help patients understand their coverage.
Review and present treatment plans, explain recommended dental procedures, and confidently discuss treatment fees, insurance estimates, and financing options.
Help patients navigate their treatment options and feel comfortable moving forward with the care they need.
Follow up with patients regarding proposed treatment, outstanding treatment plans, and scheduling.
Maintain accurate patient records and support a smooth, organized, and welcoming patient experience.
Take initiative, solve problems, and proactively identify ways to improve office flow and efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
Previous dental front office experience is REQUIRED
Strong knowledge of dental insurance verification, benefit breakdowns, eligibility, and insurance terminology.
Experience presenting treatment plans and discussing patient financial arrangements.
Confidence explaining fees, insurance estimates, and financing options in a clear, approachable manner.
An energetic, warm, outgoing, and personable personality. You enjoy talking to people and making them feel welcome.
A self-starter who is organized, resourceful, dependable, and motivated to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Someone who takes initiative, follows through on commitments, and understands that their contribution directly impacts the success of a small practice.
A positive team player who values collaboration, accountability, and a healthy work environment.
The right fit matters as much as experience. We want someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, brings positive energy to the office, and takes pride in doing things well without needing constant direction.
What We Offer
Full-time position
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Competitive compensation based on experience
Paid major holidays, including your birthday!
Opportunities to learn, grow, and expand your skills
A modern, supportive, close-knit team environment
The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a growing dental practice
Why Smilestry?

As a growing practice, we value initiative, adaptability, accountability, and a genuine commitment to our patients. We want our team members to feel valued, take ownership of their work, and grow alongside the practice.
