Dental Insurance/Billing Specialist & Receptionist

Must have experience with DENTAL Insurance
HOURS:
Full time: TUESDAY - THURSDAY 8:00-5:30PM
FRIDAY 8:00-4:00PM
If needed - Mondays 8-1pm for administration
Responsibilities:
As a Billing Specialist, you'll serve as a subject matter expert in insurance requirements, authorizations, appeals, and patient navigation
Verify eligibility for Medicaid and HMO insurances
Verify & complete breakdowns, input patient insurance coverage, benefits, and setup insurance plans within our system
Determine copay/deductible for patient prior to appointment
Claims: Accurately process insurance claims, Post EOBS, Enter Efts, send statements in a timely manner, follow up on outstanding claims, run reports to check why claims get denied
Manage and maintain patient invoicing, billing, and collecting of payment
Keep patient accounts up-to-date by recording payments and changes when needed
Work on getting overdue payments from patients
Maintain up-to-date patient accounting records
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and patient satisfaction
Financial Calls: Handle financial inquiries and communicate with patients regarding their financial responsibilities, payment options, and billing issues
Past Due Reports/Credit Reports: Manage and follow up on past due accounts, conduct credit reporting, and implement strategies to ensure timely payments
Basic Math skills using a calculator (addition, subtraction, percentages, etc.)

Requirements:
Ability to handle dental collections efficiently and professionally
Sound .

Strong attention to detail, low error accuracy, and organizational skills
Experience with verification of benefits, assignment of benefits, Pt co-pays, efficient communication with insurance companies, and, getting the maximum coverage on behalf of the patients
Experience with electronic claims submission and the accurate ledger entries of insurance and patient payments and the subsequent calculations of balances owed
Excellent communication skills with patients & team members, both verbal and written
Customer Service: Ability to provide outstanding customer service and maintain a positive patient experience
Minimum two (2) years Dental Office Billing experience with PPO provider insurance rules - required

Summary
As a Dental Insurance/Billing Specialist & Receptionist, you will manage patient billing, insurance claims, and front-d desk duties to ensure smooth financial and administrative workflows. Reporting to the Office Manager, you will leverage core skills in medical billing, office administration, EHR systems, and medical terminology to maintain accurate records, process payments, and support patient scheduling. Your premium skills in DRG, CPT/ICD coding, and medical coding will enhance claim accuracy and reimbursement. Strong communication and organizational abilities will contribute to a positive patient experience and efficient practice operations.
