Job Description
We are seeking a personable, organized, and experienced Temporary Dental Receptionist to join our front office team for a short-term assignment from early August through December. As the first point of contact for our practice, you will play a crucial role in shaping the patient experience and keeping our office running smoothly during this period. The ideal candidate will seamlessly manage the front desk, maintain an organized waiting area, and hit the ground running with our administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Experience: Greet and welcome patients to the practice with a warm, professional demeanor. Assist patients with filling out intake and information forms.
Scheduling & Coordination: Schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments as needed. Prepare patient charts and daily schedules for the dental staff. Schedule follow-up appointments and provide courtesy phone reminders.
Insurance & Billing: Communicate directly with medical/dental insurance providers to verify coverage and determine co-payments. Verify methods of payment and accurately collect payments.
Records Management: Update patient records and accurately document recent treatments and procedures.
Office Administration: Perform general front-office duties including answering telephones, photocopying, filing, and faxing. Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized patient waiting area and reception desk.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of proven experience working in a dental office (Required).
Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience and proficiency with OpenDental practice management software (Required to ensure a quick transition).
Availability: Must be able to commit to the full duration of the contract (late August through October).
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Certification in office administration, medical administration, or a related field is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:
Sound knowledge of dental terminology.
Working knowledge of general administrative and front-desk practices.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent customer service skills and fantastic telephone etiquette.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
