Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient inquiries, and administrative tasks with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. Experience with electronic medical records and dental office software is highly preferred to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent patient service.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures
Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and manage patient appointments using Dentrix or similar dental software
Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls as needed
Collect patient information and update electronic medical records accurately using Epic or comparable systems
Verify insurance details and process billing information efficiently
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a welcoming environment
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry
Communicate effectively with the dental team regarding patient needs and appointment details
Ensure compliance with all health and safety protocols, including COVID-19 guidelines
Requirements
Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a medical/dental office setting is highly desirable
Proficiency with Dentrix, Cleardent, or similar electronic medical records systems
Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing schedules and records
Experience with multi-line phone systems and front desk operations
Ability to handle administrative responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Professional appearance and excellent communication skills
Familiarity with office equipment such as fax machines, scanners, and computers
Previous office experience in healthcare settings is preferred but not required
