Job Description
Our friendly office is looking for an out-going front office receptionist with a background in the dental field. An individual with treatment planning/billing background is a plus but not required. We value our patients and staff, and provide a stress-free, enjoyable environment.
We are seeking someone with a friendly personality to answer the phones, is courteous, and has experience in customer service. We are willing to train and teach the right candidate if needed. Being bi-lingual is a plus.
Looking for 5 days a week, but flexible:
M-TH: 9-6 PM
F 9-5PM

We use Dentrix Ascend in our office, responsibilities include scheduling patients, confirming patient appointments, checking patients out, processing insurance claims and payments, presenting treatment plans, etc

Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information and updating patient records.
Schedule appointments accurately using Dentrix Ascend
Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility
Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle billing inquiries related to medical and dental services.
Maintain accurate documentation review for patient records, treatment plans, and billing information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately and take detailed messages.
Assist with insurance verification, claims processing, and follow-up on unpaid accounts or outstanding balances.
Ensure the confidentiality of patient information in accordance with health information management standards.
Support administrative functions such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing electronic medical records (EMR systems like eClinicalWorks).
Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations and patient flow.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental office or medical clinic environment is highly desirable.
Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred; familiarity with EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth is a plus.
Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT), insurance verification, and health information management.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry accuracy.
Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally.
Knowledge of dental terminology and clinic procedures enhances efficiency in this role.
Experience with HIPAA compliance, documentation review, and office management procedures is essential for maintaining regulatory standards.
