Job Description

OSU College of Dentistry Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is looking for a Patient Coordinator to join our team. The Patient Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the front desk and making sure patients are taken care of. This position will also be responsible for assisting with patient scheduling, treatment planning and billing. Our ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:
Functions as an integral member of the Oral Surgery care team; providing service to our community, doctors, students and fellow colleagues.

Greet incoming visitors and customers professionally and provided friendly, knowledgeable assistance.

Coordinates patient scheduling, check-in, check-out and payments for billing.

Check patient insurance, demographic and health history to keep information current.

Maintain compliance with company policies, objectives and communication goals.

Adhered to strict HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy. Provide feedback for process improvements.

Assist with new staff training and development.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Ensure all appointments are being scheduled in the system timely.

Keep the front desk area clean, stock supplies as needed and stock medicine when needed.
