Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient records, and insurance processing. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and a strong understanding of dental terminology and administrative procedures. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering exceptional patient service.

Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent front desk customer service
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
Collect payments, process medical billing, and handle collections efficiently
Maintain accurate and organized patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical history forms and treatment plans
Assist with intake procedures and ensure proper documentation review before appointments
Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist patients with inquiries
Perform data entry tasks such as CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and other medical administrative support functions
Facilitate communication between patients and clinical staff regarding care plans and appointment details
Ensure the clinic’s administrative operations run smoothly by managing filing systems, medical records, and office supplies
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role within a dental clinic preferred
Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and health information management systems
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Meditech is highly desirable
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (including 10-key typing)
Knowledge of insurance verification processes and medical billing procedures including Medicare billing practices
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping
Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and bilingual abilities are a plus
Ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Previous clinic or medical office experience is preferred; hospital experience is a plus
