Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office software, and a strong understanding of dental terminology. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth patient experience and maintaining efficient office operations.
Hours: Monday - Friday 2pm to 7:30pm.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix or similar software
Manage multi-line phone systems to handle patient inquiries and appointment requests
Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
Collect payments and process billing transactions at the front desk
Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and correspondence
Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily operations
Handle patient questions regarding procedures, billing, or insurance coverage professionally
Experience
Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a dental office setting preferred
Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care
Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) and office management systems
Strong office experience including front desk responsibilities and administrative support
Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and scheduling
Prior experience in medical or dental office environments is advantageous
