Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and personable Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth front desk operations, delivering outstanding patient service, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with dental office experience who are eager to contribute to a dynamic healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally, establishing a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Manage patient scheduling using dental practice management software WIN OMS
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance authorizations
Handle patient intake, including collecting medical history and updating electronic health records (EHR systems).
Maintain accurate medical records, documentation review, and filing of dental and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, scheduling appointments, and addressing patient inquiries promptly.
Assist with billing processes such as medical collection and medical billing using EMR
Support office management tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining a clean, organized front desk area.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist within a clinical setting; dental clinic experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and health information management.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Win OMS
Experience with insurance verification processes including Medicare and other insurance plans.
Excellent communication skills with strong phone etiquette and customer service orientation.
Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and 10-key typing.
Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
