Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Receptionist, Must Have Dental Office Experience- where your energetic and welcoming attitude will set the tone for a positive patient experience. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing appointments, handling insurance verifications, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Duties
Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service at the front desk, ensuring a positive first impression.
Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, coordinating with clinical staff.
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers, ensuring proper documentation review for billing purposes.
Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, answering inquiries promptly and directing calls appropriately.
Handle medical and dental administrative support tasks such as filing records, updating patient information in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Meditech, and maintaining organized medical records.
Process payments, perform medical collection activities, and assist with billing procedures including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and documentation review.
Facilitate intake procedures for new patients, including collecting medical history and explaining clinic policies related to HIPAA compliance and health information management.
Skills
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and office management practices within a clinical setting.
Proficiency in dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (including 10 key typing).
Experience with insurance verification processes, medical billing, coding (CPT/ICD), and Medicare guidelines.
Exceptional patient service skills coupled with effective phone etiquette and communication abilities.
Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and office procedures is highly valued.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing processes.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and proper handling of protected health information.
